Rayman Origins on old Mac 2008 4,1 10.8.3
Hi,
today i tried to play the game rayman origins on my early 2008 macbook.
first thing: i have macosx 10.8 wich i only got working with "mlpostfactor". write me if you want a tutorial for that.
now first problem is that rayman origins is for 10.8.5, i got a message that this version of rayman doesn't work on my mac version 10.8.4. i searched google and found a tutorial how to bypass the mac version check.. but it didn't work (altough system information showed me that i have version 10.8.5)
so that changing the mac version didn't work i took a look in the .app folder of rayman to find something. and indeed:
1. Install Rayman even if the icon shows that it's not supported
2. Go to your applications folder
3. Right click Rayman origins -> show package (?)
4. Contents -> Open Info.plist
5. Edit "Minimum system version" to the mac os version you have
ok if you got that the message will be gone. but my next problem was that i got a message from rayman itself. it said that my hardware is not compatible..
I searched for minimum requirements and found that my
Intel GMA X3100 144 MB
is not supported and has too less ram
but no problem:
1. Open the .app folder again
2. Contents -> Resources -> Open specifications.xml
3. Theres a number between: <VRAM><less></less></VRAM>
Change it to something like: <VRAM><less>268435</less></VRAM>
4. Remove the lines with your graphics card, in my case:
<OpenGL_renderer><contains>Intel GMA X3100</contains></OpenGL_renderer>
5. Play the game
I started the game and can play now. Didn't get any problems by now. Write in comments if it worked or didn't work for you!
Good luck!

Thanks a lot, it works very well on a MacBook Pro 4.1 2,4GHz, 4 GB RAM and a Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 128MB. It is just a bit slow on some levels where resolution is very high but in a whole, it is playable whereas the editor states it is not...
AntwortenLöschenThanks man! I love this game :)
